Fresh new video...Pacific Northwest..westport, cove, the wedge
Sun Dec 28, 2008 at 11:44PM
video by llemondropp...much thanks...
To all my friends (Clay, Joe R., JD, Mike T., Mitch K., Greg S., D & D Swaney, Paco, Garrett, Dan and the crew from Sunrise, all the EPIC crew and the boyz back home in AB and St A, here's the situation: keeping it loose in 45 degree water temp/38 degree air temp, in a 6/5/4 or 5/4/3 (built in hood) with 7ml booties and 3ml gloves isn't quite the same as feeling loose in 62 degree water temp/75 degree air temp, in your 3/2 with no booties and warm Fla sun heating up your core like a Ripcurl H-Bomb...hence...its alot more work to keep it fluid and rip it up, but its an adventure for sure. We have plenty of room, so come on up to the Northwest anytime and we'll put you up and guarantee to get you stoked with some icy barrels and hot lattes or cold olympia brewskys at sunset, by the wood stove at night. Mahalo and happy holidays!
Surfing the Straits of Juan de Fuca
Wed Dec 10, 2008 at 12:47AM
Wilderness surfing on tribal territory...my respect and gratitude to the Makah for their history and lifestyle with the earth and sea...feel the vibe.
Surfing the Straits of Juan De Fuca...check it out on google earth. All along the north coast of WA there are sweet points, bays and river mouths that go off with a sizable west to northwest swell. More often than not its offshore with the Southwest windflow and this makes for some perfect surf sessions with predictable ground swell. No eastcoast chop here. The water is usually a little colder than on the west coast (currently water temp is 48), but the scenery and ambiance is rustic wilderness and almost never a crowd. Its a short 20' ferry ride from Edmonds, WA and about an hour to an hour and a half of northwest scenic wilderness driving and then you are there. You can score some long rides with the many points and rivermouths, most of which are rippable waves with a few more hollow sections here and there. Check out the video (much thanks to 96714) of "the wedge" on the west end of the Straits. This is where I surf most of the time...bring your ripcurl H-bomb or 5/4/3, 5-7ml booties, 3ml gloves and some North Fla stoke from back home and lets treat you to some memorable sessions. Mahalo.
Window View - Seven Years EP - Now Available On iTunes
Tue Jul 29, 2008 at 11:32PM
Hey Friends,
Window View has a brand new EP available now through most major digital music retailers. Window View is a chip off the old block...ha ha! Here is the message from Window View's blog concerning the new release:
The new Seven Years EP is now our and available for purchase through iTunes, Amazon.com, Lala.com, Napster and eMusic.
This has been a long time coming and I hope these songs can mean as much to you as they mean to me. For me, the theme of most of these songs has to do with a progression. A progression from life to death, from love to pain, from holding on to letting go. I also threw on a track at the last minute called "Who Do You Love?" that is adds a bit of a different feel to the EP, and I think it balances it out nicely.
To purchase the Seven Years EP, head to one of the following sites..
Thanks for listening.
