Saturday Afternoon: Still some Hanna leftovers.. Waist to rib high plus on the sets.. Sets are a little spread out but worth the wait. Just coming off of high tide and the offshore wind continues giving the surf really nice form.. Some of the sets are holding back and closing out but not as bad as this morning. Still worth a check.. ANd it looks like we have potential for building surf tomorrow.. Stay tuned

The Poles - 7:30 AM

Thu Sep 04, 2008 at 12:02PM
| Time: | 07:30 AM | Cond: | Choppy |
|
| Surf: | 3-4ft | Crowd: | 5-10 surfers | |
| Wind: | E 10 mph | Tides: | H12:10PM - L06:28PM |
7:30 AM Thursday Morning: Chest high with poor onshore conditions. Moving off of low tide and the surf appears to be trying to take on some shape.. but the decent workable waves are few and far between.. For the most part it is disorganized and sloppy out there. Onshore wind expected throghout the day, picking up and clocking more NE later in the day. Still plenty of sizeable rideable surf.. May be worth a check at high tide, depending on what the wind is doing. At the moment, looking like it is going to get big and nasty tomorrow with some possible clean up surf on tap for this weekend.. Stay tuned.. Things are changing by the hour!

The Poles - 12:15 PM

Wed Sep 03, 2008 at 04:37PM
| Time: | 12:15 PM | Cond: | Choppy |
|
| Surf: | 3-4ft | Crowd: | 10-15 surfers | |
| Wind: | E 10 mph | Tides: | H11:28AM - L05:41PM |
Wednesday Afternoon 12:15 PM: High tide report. Looks to be about waist to chest plus. Not quite as big or as fun as it was yesterday at mid-day. Still some nice little inside bowls. Real sectiony and dumpy so wave selection will play a role in how much fun ya have... Outside is complete mush right now and pretty much unrideable. Still worth a check with plenty of sizable/rideable surf if you have the afternoon off.

The Poles - 7:15 AM

Wed Sep 03, 2008 at 11:42AM
| Time: | 07:15 AM | Cond: | Choppy |
|
| Surf: | 4-5ft+ | Crowd: | 1-5 surfers | |
| Wind: | ENE 7 mph | Tides: | H11:28AM - L05:41PM |
Wednesday Morning 7:15 AM: Sizeable surf from TS Hanna continues. This morning it looks to be about head high on the outside sets. Disorganized and breaking a little mushy early with ENE wind on it early and expected throughout the day. Hopefully we will see the inside start to work like yesterday up through high tide. Still some nice size workable sets on the outside early, just a little crumbly and choppy.. Hopefully we will start to see more of a top to bottom wave up through high tide. I am going to do a High tide report late morning so check back. As I am sure you have heard, Ike and Josephine are now full blown spinners so we will want to keep an eye on these storms as well over the next week.

The Poles - Mid-day UPDATE

Tue Sep 02, 2008 at 05:26PM
| Time: | 01:01 PM | Cond: | Semi-Choppy |
|
| Surf: | 4-5ft+ | Crowd: | 20-25 surfers | |
| Wind: | ENE 11 mph | Tides: | H10:45AM - L04:56PM |
Tuesday 1:00 PM: Tide is starting to turn and it looks like the inside is really starting to work. Chest to shoulder high and walling up. Not the cleanest surf in the world, but some nice chunky/workable sections and real peaky on the inside. We should see it improve as the tide continues to drop out. Saw a few guys even get barreled. Bigger, head high plus outside sets are a little mushy and not quite breaking all the way through right now but still catchable. It is def. worth a check this afternoon if you can make it out this way Poles is probably the spot with the wind starting to clock a little more out of the NE. I am going to start doing an afternoon report if possible as long as we have waves so keep checking back for that.. If you ever have questions or comments feel free to hit me up.. Enjoy it out there!
